Mrs Amber Yeong Hor Kwan

Chief Operating Officer,
National Heart Centre Singapore, SingHealth


Amber assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer for National Heart Centre Singapore in 2021.   She began her healthcare career with SGH in 1997 with the pre-operations team, subsequently moving to NHCS at the start of its operations as an autonomous institution in January 1999. Amber was deeply involved in the various aspects of operations planning when the Centre was at the old Mistri Wing as well as at the current NHCS building, and in the Centre's successful inaugural Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation in 2005.   

Besides being involved in various initiatives relating to process workflows, operational efficiency and improved care delivery, Amber is also an advocate of Lean culture in the organization, and believes the need for continuous learning in order to adapt to the evolving change of the healthcare landscape.    

Amber concurrently holds the role of Chief Operating Officer of Retail Services and Visitor Services in SingHealth.
