Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)

Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) promotes critical thinking as the foundation for providing quality care. With a good foundation of knowledge and key principles, pre-hospital practitioners will be equipped to make reasonable decisions in caring for patients.

This is a 1-day course developed by the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT), USA, and conducted by Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) and the SingHealth Duke-NUS Institute of Medical Simulation (SIMS).

Course Outline

Based on the pre-hospital trauma care philosophy, this course emphasises on the treatment of the multi-system trauma patient as a unique entity with specific needs, which may require an approach that varies from traditional treatment modalities.
