Clinical Preceptorship Course
(Previously known as Preceptoring Skills Programme)
This programme aims to develop and prepare the advanced beginner nurses for the role of preceptor to junior nurses. It is hoped that the values, skills and knowledge taught will be able to help them in their new role in preceptorship and able to provide effective guidance and supervision to junior nurses.

Course Outline:
Upon completion of this programme, participants should be able to:
State principles of preceptorship
Discuss the roles and responsibilities of a preceptor
Outline Adult learning principles and learning styles
Discuss on the principles and best practices in clinical supervision and assessment
Understand the importance of effective communication in preceptorship
Demonstrate ability to constructively evaluate a preceptee's learning performance
Target Audience:
Registered Nurses with at least 2 years of practice in the clinical area and have not attended Clinical Teaching Course for Nurses
Enrolled Nurses with at least 2 years of practice in the clinical area and have not attended SEN Developmental Programme or EN Cardiac Nursing Course
