The CHEER+ Course is a blended learning programme designed to train Allied Health staff in SingHealth to be CHEER Champions for their respective departments.Course outlinePart 1. 1. Describing all five CHEER values in SingHealth 2. Describing the core principles and steps in non-violent communication 3. Becoming a CHEER Champion (see 'Roles of CHEER Champions' below) for their respective departmentRoles of CHEER Champions 1. Serve as resource persons on CHEER values and NVC and bridge between the CHEER team and staff in their respective department 2. Embody CHEER values and able to communicate compassionately – serve as role models and NVC practice buddies of colleaguesPrerequisites for participants 1. Allied Health staff currently employed by any SingHealth institution 2. Attended CHEER workshop prior to enrolment 3. Obtained approval from respective head of department to undergo the CHEER+ course and to serve as CHEER Champions 4. Access to the SingHealth eLearning Portal (Wizlearn) https://elearning.singhealthacademy.edu.sg/SH/Login/Login_sh.aspx?returnUrl= Expectations 1. Course participants are expected to complete reviewing course materials, self-reflection activities and quizzes according to stipulated timeframe. 2. The estimated time commitment from participants is approximately 7 hours that spans a period of 2-3 months. All learning activities can be done asynchronously, i.e., at own choice of time. All essential course materials are made readily available to participants in the SingHealth eLearning Portal and the hardcopy books that are complimentary to CHEER+ participants. CertificationUpon completion of the course, participants will be awarded a Certificate of Achievement by the College of Allied Health (CAH). Commitment from participantsGraduates of the CHEER+ course are expected to take up the role of the CHEER Champions for a period of 12 months upon completion of the course.Benefits of joining the CHEER+ course 1. The CHEER Train-the-trainer Programme (CHEER TTT) is a blended learning programme designed to train Allied Health staff in SingHealth to be facilitators of the CHEER workshop for Allied Health staff.
