Your Learning Experience

The Singapore Integrated Programme (SGIP) for Hand Surgery provides Residents with maximum exposure to all aspects of Hand and Microsurgical Reconstructive Limb Surgery. This includes, but is not limited to, Trauma Surgery, Replantation Surgery, Reconstructive and Flap Surgery, Nerve and Paralytic Surgery and Wrist Surgery.

The first two years in the curriculum will focus on Surgery-in-General with rotations in National University Hospital (NUH). This is followed by four years of specialisation in Hand Surgery in SingHealth, National Healthcare Group (NHG) and National University Health System (NUHS) hospitals and institutions.

Clinician Scientist Residency Track
Residents interested in pursuing the Clinician Scientist (CS) track can further extend their research period to pursue Masters or PhD degrees. After graduation, they are expected to spend at least 50% of their time involved in research as a CS.

There are also opportunities to further your career in medical education for those interested in becoming Clinical Educators.
