Asst Prof Nicolas Kon Kam King graduated from the University of Sheffield Medical School and obtained his PhD from Imperial College London in 2008, where he investigated the modulation of cortical plasticity. He completed his advanced surgical training at the National Neuroscience Institute, Singapore in 2013, and did his fellowship in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery at the Toronto Western Hospital, Canada in 2014.
He is a Consultant Neurosurgeon at the Department of Neurosurgery, National Neuroscience Institute (NNI), covering the campuses at the Singapore General Hospital and Tan Tock Seng Hospital. His subspecialties include neuro-oncology, functional neurosurgery, deep brain stimulation, and intracerebral haemorrhage. He is the Director of Neurosurgery Research at NNI, Co-Director of NNI Deep Brain Stimulation Centre, and Director of the Centre for Neurotechnological Innovation at NNI. His research interests include neuromodulation, neurotechnology, advanced imaging, and brain injury recovery.
