Dr Ian Phoon is a Family Physician (Consultant) at SingHealth’s Pasir Ris Polyclinic. He had obtained his MBBS degree (Singapore) in 1999, and MMED (Family Medicine) Singapore in 2007.

He chairs the cardiovascular disease workgroup for SingHealth Polyclinics since May 2011, and was a clinical preceptor for the SingHealth Residency Family Medicine Programme from June 2013 to June 2017. He was also in the Ministry of Health, Singapore, Clinical Practice Guideline committee for Hypertension from September 2012 to March 2017. He has a keen interest in the promotion and management of cardiovascular-metabolic health in the primary care.

Dr Phoon is also part of the Singapore Healthcare Improvement Network (SHINe), as a Programme Manager for SingHealth Polyclinics since May 2014. He leads a multidisciplinary team to improve medication safety with regards to insulin and other oral anti-diabetic drugs, and the prescription and management of oral anti-coagulants. Currently, he is also a Chief Instructor for BCLS, AED for SingHealth Polyclinics since March 2013.
